With the cross season set to start at CrossVegas, at this year’s Interbike trade show, Marin Bikes announced the addition of US rider Nicole Duke as an edition to their team roster for the 2013/2014 Cyclocross season. The Colorado racer will be coming on board in conjunction with Marins release of their new Cortina cross bike. Duke will contest the Elite US UCI series as well as select UCI events in Europe with the goal of competing at US Nationals and Worlds.
Duke heads into this years racing with the goal of picking up where she left off from last season, where she placed 3rd at the US Nationals as well as taking the Colorado State Championship and several USGP podiums. Previous to racing cross Nicole cut her teeth on a mountain bike, racing professional Downhill and Dual Slalom, so there could be a surprise entry of Duke racing an enduro or two next season aboard a Marin mountain bike.
For cross racing Duke will be campaigning the Marin Cortina CX Pro outfitted with components from equipment sponsors SRAM/ZIPP/Avid, Clement, Fizik WD-40 and Crank Brothers. Supporting sponsors include co-title sponsor Spy Optics, as well as Giro, Thule, Honey Stinger and Champion Systems.
