Long time readers of Peloton may have noticed we like to talk about Sidi shoes. If we ever encounter someone who can’t quite find a shoe that fits right, we always say, “have you tried Sidi?” Now not every shoe works for every rider, but that piece of advice helps more often than not, so we’re always excited when the Italian company announces new shoes—especially when they cost $200 less than the range-topping Wire 2. For its latest shoe, Sidi has completely redesigned its best selling model, the Genius.
The new Genius 10 uses a reinforced heel cup to stabilize and support the heel and reduce heel slip—while providing increased power transfer, and foot protection in crashes. Above the heel cup, a durable Technomicro microfiber upper provides cooling via mesh panels.
To secure the foot, the Genius 10 uses Sidi’s fully replaceable proprietary Tecno-3 fit system and Soft Instep Closure System. The Soft Instep Closure System is a wide, anatomical strap above the foot that adjusts left and right to help dial in that perfect fit. The Tecno-3 fit system runs for the entire length of the shoe, helping it contour to each foot. Together, these elements promise a fit that is comfortable from heel to toe, for mile after mile. And if the fit is anything like the rest of Sidi’s line, we expect nothing less.
The Genius 10 comes in four colors—black, grey, white and fluorescent yellow—in sizes 40-48. It retails for $300. Look for a review in an upcoming issue of Peloton Magazine.
