The month we’ve all been waiting for is finally here – Christmas in July for cyclists, the Tour de France starts tomorrow. With that, this past week was filled with bike launches, tests, gear and videos to keep us motivated for the long days ahead. Most mornings we choose to get in the saddle to start our routine and we hope you will too, as well as keeping up with all the action coming your way from the Peloton Service Course this summer.

Power is King

During the 2016 Amgen Tour of California the Peloton Service Course spent a few stages with Team Giant-Alpecin, Lotto-Jumbo and UHC Pro Cycling, all teams that ride with Pioneer Power meters. We talked to riders and Directors to find out just how important power is to a pro rider. We also went behind the scenes to see how the meters are made and how they are punished, to make sure they hold up on the road, no matter the conditions.

Cannondale’s Redesigned ‘Cross Machine

Born in Connecticut, in the heart of America’s New England ‘cross scene, Cannondale was making ‘cross bikes long before they became the next ‘big thing’. Its latest, the third iteration of the SuperX, is a bike that shows this vast experience by going beyond traditional ‘cross geometry to react to the style of racing and courses we see in modern ‘cross. In the process, Cannondale may have just made one of the fastest gravel bikes ever.

Aero Disc Machine

The use of disc brake bikes may be temporarily on hold in the pro peloton, but we all know this won’t last for long – frame and component manufacturers will likely have their way in the foreseeable future. There were a few new road disc offerings at last week’s Press Camp in Park City, Utah including the Noah SL Disc from the Belgian frame designer Ridley. We had the opportunity to take this aero, disc build out on a windy and bumpy ride through this mountain town.

SuperSix Evo Launched in Austria

Cannondale just dropped the new SuperX cross platform and with the resin barely dry on that bike, it just released its second bike of the week, the new SuperSix Hi-Mod Disc. We spent a few hours with Cannondale today, learning abut the bike and going for a 2hour ride on the new bike around Kitzbühel, Austria. If you know the roads around Kitzbühel, you know that means we climbed.

New Shimano Dura-Ace for 2017

Component manufacturer Shimano introduces the next evolution of the top of the line Dura-Ace components and wheels. Highlights of this 2017 offering include the syncro shift, power meter, hydro brake options and more.
