3 Cool Bits: Haley, MET, Eliel #issue100gearfestival

Eliel Sonoma Sierra Thermal Long Sleeve T2
Layer up for those late-winter and spring rides in style with the Sonoma Sierra Thermal Long Sleeve T2 from Eliel. This made-in-California jersey makes use of Eliel’s mid-weight T2 thermal fabric to keep you warm on days below 50 degrees Fahrenheit and can even work on days much colder than that when paired with the right layers. Made with a race cut, it provides just enough space for a thermal base layer beneath and features a low-profile collar to continue the sleek fit. We’re fans of this blue, white and red Kaleidescape pattern that looks great with just about anything. $180; elielcycling.com

MET Rivale MIPS
The latest version of the Rivale helmet from MET could be the brand’s best tradeoff of price to performance available. Priced at $180, this helmet now includes an MIPS liner as well as reflective elements, helping mitigate the worst effects of an impact and preventing them from occurring in the first place. Comfort has also been increased with a new Safe-T Upsilon retention system that features a 360-degree head belt, reducing pressure points on the head. A gel-padded head support gives additional comfort, while 18 vents provide a cool ride and space to dock your sunglasses when not needed. $180; 7 colors; met-helmets.com

Haley Cycles
Some frame builders draw you in by offering standard-frame models, but then charge far more for custom. Haley keeps things simple by charging just one price to make the exact bike you want—an all-you-can-eat buffet juxtaposed to the à la carte method of builders that charge for every little feature, like rack mounts. There are no models per se at Haley. Instead, they’ll build you exactly the titanium frame you want—be it road, gravel, hardtail MTB or something in between—with the geometry and finish tuned to your exact standards. All frames are built in Colorado and, to make the rest of the package as good as the frame, are kitted with ENVE forks and Chris King headsets. Framesets: $3,999/$4,499; haleycycles.com
