Roll Massif, a collection of Colorado-based cycling events, has added a ninth ride to its 2021 lineup, this time venturing south to New Mexico. Called the Enchanted Circle Bicycle Tour, the 85- and 100-mile route options visit the high altitude peaks of the Southwest on August 28, 2021.
The course will start and finish on Main Street in downtown Red River, traveling along the Enchanted Circle Scenic Byway through Questa, Taos, Angel Fire and Eagle Nest and peaking at an elevation of 9,820 feet on Bobcat Pass. Along the way, the course travels through two New Mexico State Parks, by the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Angel Fire and over Palo Flechado Pass and Bobcat Pass. The tour includes full route support, stocked aid stations, music, food and libations.
Though now operating under a new name, this ride is nothing new, building on the well-established Enchanted Circle Century, which has been around for four decades and was previously operated by the Red River Chamber of Commerce. “The Town of Red River is honored to be part of such an amazing cycling series as Roll Massif,” said Linda Calhoun, mayor of Red River. “They will place the Enchanted Circle Bicycle Tour in front of a whole new group of cyclists and outdoor enthusiasts.”
“We are thrilled to be expanding our cycling portfolio outside of Colorado to include a tour in New Mexico,” said Chandler Smith, Roll Massif co-founder and director of event strategy. “Red River and the surrounding area offer a variety of terrain, amazing views and first-class hospitality.”
Registration is open now at rollmassif.com/enchantedcircle and costs $80, rising to $115 for day-of registration.
Roll Massif is a part of Outside Inc., (parent company to Peloton) which offers an annual membership program, Active Pass, that provides access to active lifestyle content across outdoor brands as well as access to print magazine titles like Peloton, SKI, Backpacker and more. For those looking to ride Enchanted Circle Ride, signing up for Active Pass, a $99 annual membership fee, is a no-brainer. New members will get a complimentary Enchanted Circle entry, plus 25 percent off all other Roll Massif events, in addition to many other perks like training plans, video tutorials and more. That’s only $19 more than the price of registration for this one event alone.
