100% Sunglasses for a Cause All proceeds from this limited run benefit the Challenged Athletes Foundation

You may have noticed Peter Sagan wearing a special pair of 100% sunglasses at the Tour de France while vying for his record-setting seventh green jersey. While Sagan often dons cool limited edition runs of glasses from the San Diego-based 100%, these ones are a little more special than the others.

With lenses coated in 24-karat gold, only 50 pairs of these turquoise Speedtraps will ever be made. And all proceeds from this limited run are going to benefit the Challenged Athletes Foundation, a fantastic cause close to Sagan.

“I believe what CAF does is so important,” said Sagan. “If you’ve been riding or running all your life and then disaster strikes, how do you cope with it, how do you get back to your life? We created these special sunglasses to support what the Challenged Athletes Foundation does – to help people find their way back through sport.”

Each pair is individually numbered and comes with an individual gold authenticated card signed by Sagan. The first 48 pairs are available only through select 100% partners around the world, through specially arranged $500 donations per pair. But if you need to have a pair—and want to benefit a good cause—the final two will be auctioned off by the Challenged Athletes Foundation (take a look here). The auction closes at the conclusion of the Tour in Paris, Sunday July 28, where Sagan hopes to claim his seventh green jersey while wearing a pair.
