Deux North, a cycling brand created by brothers James and Dylan Nord, is out to tell a different kind of story. On November 12th, Deux North will release Hunt 3, the third in a series of ten trips around the world set to inspire and study what we all love about cycling.
The photos shared here are from Hunt 3, which tells the story of five riders as they leave their home in New York City and travel to the foothills of the Adirondack Mountains. Setting up camp and sleeping in tents, Deux North’s riders, or hunters, split time riding hundreds of miles of beautiful roads and documenting one of the region’s biggest events, a lumberjacking competition that draws thousands to Boonville, New York every year.
The brothers Nord began the Hunt series with filmmaker Aaron Vazquez to tell stories about the passion behind our obsession, the freedom felt while riding, and the things we learn about ourselves and others in the saddle. The Deux North Hunts are told through video, photographs, and words. Each trip comes alive through the perspective of the new hunters that join each trip, unsure of what exactly to expect. Passion is proven universal in the stories of the unexpected characters they meet along the way, from demolition derby drivers to lumberjacks.
No two hunts are the same, but the Nords hope each will make its audience want to ride, meet new people, and explore the sport we love with passion.
Check out their stories at www.deuxnorth.com or on Twitter @DeuxNorth. The Hunt 3 film will debut in full on Monday, November 11 (7pm) at the Rapha Cycle Club New York.
