Reigning Olympic time trial champion Kristin Armstrong is planning a return to cycling for the 2011 season. The 37-year-old American hopes to repeat her performance from Beijing at the 2012 games in London. In late 2009 Armstrong put a end to her career because she wanted to start a family. Earlier this year Armstrong gave birth to a son and is now back training.
“I love the sport and competition. After the 2009 World Championships, I stopped, not because I was tired but because my husband and I wanted a child. I have always said that if everything went smoothly with our son, I would consider a return to cycling,” Armstrong said.
