On Saturday, November 18th the fourth annual Peloton Gravel MOB will roll out from beautiful Ojai, California. This is a special event – equal parts community, suffering, scenery and adventure – the Peloton Gravel MOB is 58miles of the most beautiful dirt roads in Ventura County with lots of local Ojai flavor. Check the link below to register and for all the details. The field is extremely limited for 2017 so sign up today! This event will sell out! (Hero Image: Jeff Clark)
Join us for the first ever PELOTON Gravel MOB Recon Camp: October 13/14/15 in Ojai Ca! Details below!
Easton Cycling’s AX line of components and new EC90SL cranks with Cinch meter set the standard for adventure and gravel riding. That’s what we’ll be riding and you can learn more about them here!
GU Nutrition will be on course providing all the hydration and calories you need to keep the pedals turning on this challenging course. Plus, they’ll be in attendance at our Recon Camp with nutrition tips! Check them out here.
Panaracer GravelKing tires were so far ahead of the gravel craze it’s incredible. This is Panaracer’s third year supporting the event and more fast, flat free miles have been ridden on our course with GravelKings than any other tire! Check them out here.
All these sponsors will providing prizes for our world famous raffle! Get ready for the PELOTON Gravel MOB hook-up!
Big climbs, stunning views, groomed fire roads, rutty, rocky dirt roads, creek crossings, exposed single track and a sweeping ten mile road descent down Rose Valley back to Ojai, where the afterparty awaits. Tacos, beer and the best raffle in all of cycling with great prizes from Easton, GU, Panaracer and other brands!
Don’t let the short mileage fool you. It’s hard, really, hard. Probably too hard. The first climb, Sulphur Mountain, is 16km long, climbs 2200’ and will shatter the field. The second climb, Sisar, is harder, much harder – 13km with 3100’ of elevation.
After that it’s the most gorgeous dirt road in California, the Nordhoff Ridge Road, with views into the vast Sespe on one side and the Channel Islands on the other. A narrow, winding descent down Howard Creek Trail into Rose Valley will have you questioning our sanity, before 16km of smooth serpentine asphalt down Highway 33 takes you home.
We’ll have three rest stops stocked with nutrition and hydration from GU. All you’ll need to keep the pedals turning plus some PELOTON Gravel MOB favorites – think popsicles and pickles.
Ya’ll want a ‘cross bike minimum here. 40mm tires are a big help at the bottom of Sisar, where it’s steep and rocky. Low gears are your friend. But as nasty as a few sections are, a ‘cross or gravel bike is the fastest way to complete the route. Of course, if you are more comfortable on a hardtail mountain bike, that’s fine too. We won’t judge. The Mini-MOB and the dirt climb up Sulphur can easily be completed on a road bike.
Check this link to Strava for the course and the BikeReg page for more details. It’s not a race. The only thing up for grabs are bragging rights. We save the good stuff for the raffle and every one entered gets a ticket.
If the entire route is too much, come out for the Mini-MOB, where you’ll head home for tacos and beer after the first climb. The EASTON PELOTON Gravel MOB p/b GU is $105. The Mini-MOB is $85.

Ojai is a great location not just for riding but for family members that don’t ride. There is plenty to do in town while you suffer on the bike so bring the family and make it a weekend.
Another very important note: This ride runs through the beautiful Los Padres National Forest. The forest is a sacred resource that depends on our protection. Please give it the respect it deserves.
