Team SKY's domination of the 2012 Tour extended beyond the road to the prize lists. With over €800,000 of the total €2,020,100 prize purse the UK team was the most richly rewarded team of the tour with more than four times the winning's of the next closest team, Liquigas-Cannondale. According to tradition, Bradley Wiggins will see very little of that as the winner usually donates all of their prize money to the other riders and even team staff.

Bradley Wiggins took home €450,000 as GC champion with Froome taking €200,000 and Nibali €100,000. Wiggins also earned €8,000 for each of his TT wins and €350 for each day he wore yellow.

The Green jersey and Polka Dot jersey are worth €25,000 to Sagan and Voeckler, while VanGarderen took home €20,000 for the White jersey. RadioShack Nissan Trek  won €50,000 for finishing as the top team, while the top team after each stage won €2,800. 

There are numerous other opportunities to win money along the roadside, including €5,000 for the Souvenir Henri Desgrange for the first rider over the Col de La Croix de Fer and €5,000 for the Souvenir Jaques Goddet, first rider over the Col du Tormalet.

In addition to these awards, climbers battled for €800 at the top of each HC climb, €650 for each Cat 1, €500 for each Cat 2, €300 for each Cat 3 and €200 for each Cat 4.

The most combative rider each day won €2,000 with Sorensen of Saxo Bank winning €20,000 for the overall Super Combative award.
